We are not used to people in the house. Neither are the cats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Contractor and crew finished the subfloor and came back a few times to patiently work out the creaks I started hearing in the new floor before the flooring and cabinets went in. We found a leak around the tub area that caused the dining room wall to need minor repair as well as the flooring under the heavy 1960s cast iron tub. It really is always something. Cabinets went in smoothly and SL and I love them. He made them shaker style and they really updated the kitchen nicely but not so much that it looks too modern for the house. Next, the flooring went in and it could not have been a better experience. I appreciate all the crew that worked on the kitchen and dining room. Lastly, we got the new quartz counter tops installed and it was fun just watching those guys work and polish the tops so they shine. They brought me a couple of cutting boards from the quartz, and they are so heavy and very nice. Now, I must start unpacking boxes and going through what I want to keep or give away. I have not decided to bring my china cabinet back inside yet. I like the space without the additional furniture but will need to figure out what to do with the China cabinet contents. Again, always something. Oven and glass cooktop are in. I have not had a correct working oven in many years, so I am looking forward to using it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
