We used tap to pay credit cards where ever we went and never had a real issue. Most of the gift shops and restaurants required a signature and some asked for ID to verify. I got a new credit card just for traveling since that is safer than a debit card and one that did not charge international transaction fees. Those fees can really add up. Capital One and Chase don&#8217;t have those fees. The exchange rate wasn&#8217;t great so that is something to keep in mind. Things actually cost more using USD than the GBP and if I ever got the choice on the card machine, I choose GBP. Usually the bank&#8217;s exchange rate for converting GBP to our currency is usually more favorable than the rate offered by the card machine.&nbsp;I exchanged some US cash just to have some UK cash in case I needed it. I didn&#8217;t and it basically just cost me money to do it. It was nice to have to leave a tip here and there though. Next time, I would just use an ATM in my network if I need cash.
