SL & Adam met Adam’s mom for a late breakfast while I finished packing up. We checked out in Birmingham and headed to London. It was a 2-hour drive into London and was just motorway so nothing much to see except cars on the opposite side of the road. We found parking at a train station near the hotel where Adam could leave his car while were were there and checked in to the hotel. It was a cute little hub featuring smaller rooms but was just big enough for what we needed. The location was great and only steps across from the huge Paddington Station. We stopped to look at the Man in the Clock then we walked over to the station passing by the Wild Table of Love sculpture by Gillie and Marc and found Paddington Bear and sort of got a feel for the train maps and routes. The station is huge and has every kind of shop or restaurant you can imagine. We then headed back down the street to check out an Italian restaurant (Bizarro) that had good reviews. We were not disappointed. I took a walk down the street after dinner just to see what was around. I stopped in a news stand shop and bought a couple of room temp waters to have in the room. Still not used to not having some sort of refrigeration except for the little fridge in Wales that I miss already. We wanted to have a sort of early start for the first full day so we crashed out early.
